You will pass through the beautiful Garhwal Himalayan landscape, with mountain views, riverside stretches, and quiet valleys.

Along the way, take in the lovely views of the Mandakini River. This river flows down from the Kedarnath region and accompanies you for parts of the trip. Once you reach Guptkashi, check in at your hotel and visit the famous Ardh Narishwar Temple. This revered shrine is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati in their half-male, half-female form, symbolizing divine unity.

Lush hills surround Guptkashi and feature several ancient temples, making it a spiritually rich and calming place to begin your Himalayan journey. In the evening, have dinner at the hotel and enjoy a peaceful overnight stay in Guptkashi.

Day 02 Sitapur → Kedarnath

Day 2: Sitapur - Kedarnath (10 km + 16 km trek; whole day)

(Approx. 10 km drive to Gaurikund/Sonprayag + 16 km Trek)

After a tasty breakfast in Sitapur, you’ll be taken to Sonprayag, an important stop on the way to Kedarnath. From Sonprayag, catch a local jeep or shared taxi to Gaurikund, the official starting point of the trek to Kedarnath. At Gaurikund, you’ll get ready for the day’s spiritual climb.

The traditional trek to Kedarnath Temple from Gaurikund is about 16 km one-way. It winds through beautiful Himalayan scenery with rest areas along the way. You’ll pass places like Jungle Chatti, Bheembali, Linchauli, and Base Camp before reaching the temple.

This trek usually takes 6-8 hours, depending on your pace and fitness level. You can also choose to use ponies or palki (doli) services if you prefer.

When you arrive at Kedarnath, perform your puja and darshan at the holy shrine of Lord Shiva, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas honored throughout India.

By evening, after your spiritual visit, check in at your accommodation in Kedarnath for dinner and an overnight stay in the peaceful Himalayan atmosphere.

Day 03 Kedarnath → Sitapur

Today, you will trek back down the same trail to Gaurikund, covering about 16 km along the classic Himalayan path you climbed the day before. The trek usually takes 4 to 6 hours downhill. Along the way, you will pass through mountain villages and rest points. You can also use ponies or palki (doli) services if needed.

Once you reach Gaurikund, take a shared jeep or local taxi to Sonprayag, which is about 6 km by road. From there, continue your journey by road toward Sitapur, where your vehicle will be waiting.

Upon arriving in Sitapur in the afternoon or early evening, check in to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. Rest after the rewarding descent and your earlier visit to the holy Kedarnath Temple.

Day 04 Sitapur → Badrinath

Day 4: Sitapur - Badrinath (220 km, 9 hours)

The 220 km journey usually takes about 9 hours. You’ll pass stunning river valleys, rocky mountain landscapes, and peaceful scenery, making it a memorable part of your spiritual journey.

On the way, stop at Joshimath, a vital pilgrimage town and gateway to Badrinath. Here, you can visit the ancient Narsingh Temple, known as the winter residence of Lord Badrinath. The deity is honored here during the colder months when the Badrinath Temple closes for winter. You’ll also see Jyotirmath (Joshimath), one of the main mathas founded by Adi Shankaracharya. This place is also the starting point for several treks, including the famous Valley of Flowers trek.

Continue your journey to Badrinath and aim to arrive by afternoon or early evening. After you check in to your hotel, freshen up, and later take part in the evening Aarti and Shayan Aarti Darshan at the Badrinath Temple. This uplifting ritual occurs around sunset in a sacred atmosphere.

After this spiritually enriching experience, return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay in Badrinath.

Day 05 Badrinath → Pipalkoti

Day 5: Badrinath Sightseeing and Transfer to Pipalkoti (Approx. 80 km / ~3 hrs drive)

First, visit Tapt Kund, a natural hot-water spring where worshippers take a cleansing dip before entering the sacred shrine. It is thought to have healing properties.

Next, explore Brahma Kapal, a sacred place by the Alaknanda River where people perform special rites for their ancestors. Also, visit Charan Paduka, where there are footprints of Lord Vishnu on a sacred rock.

Check out Narad Kund, another holy hot spring near the temple, and Mata Murti Temple, which honors the mother of Lord Badrinath.

Continue to Mana Village, the last Indian village before the Tibet border. There, explore Vyas Gufa, the cave where Sage Ved Vyas is said to have written the Mahabharata.

Witness natural wonders like Bhim Pul, a stone bridge over the Saraswati River. Enjoy views of the sacred river and other nearby spiritual sites.

  • Karnaprayag, where the Pindar River meets the Alaknanda.
  • Rudraprayag, where the Mandakini joins the Alaknanda.
