Day 10
Joshimath → Badrinath → Joshimath
Day 10: Joshimath - Badrinath – Joshimath
After a hearty breakfast in Joshimath, you’ll set out for a short and scenic
drive to Badrinath, which is about 44 to 46 km away. The drive takes roughly 1.5
to 2 hours along the winding mountain road that follows the Alaknanda River.
Upon arrival, start your sacred visit by taking a holy dip in the Tapt Kund, a
natural hot spring believed to purify the body before darshan. Then, head to the
Badrinath Temple to see the divine darshan of Badrivishal (Lord Vishnu) and soak
in the peaceful spiritual atmosphere of this ancient and revered shrine.
Be sure to attend the evening aarti, which enhances the devotion and atmosphere
of the temple experience. If time allows, you can explore nearby attractions
such as Mana Village, the last Indian village before the Indo-Tibet border,
Charanpaduka, the footprints believed to be of Lord Vishnu, Bhimkund, Vyas Gufa,
the cave associated with sage Vyasa, Mata Murti Temple, and the source of the
Saraswati River, all located close to Badrinath.
After completing your darshan and sightseeing, you’ll drive back to Joshimath
for a relaxing overnight stay at your hotel, reflecting on the divine
experiences of the day.
