Embark on a meaningful 12-day, 11-night pilgrimage from Kolkata to the four holiest shrines in the Himalayas: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. This Chardham Yatra offers spiritual renewal along with the stunning beauty of Uttarakhand.
The journey begins with a transfer from Kolkata to Haridwar or Rishikesh on Day 1. The ascent into the mountains starts quickly, reaching Yamunotri over Days 2 and 3. This includes a trek to the sacred source of the Yamuna River. Next, the Yatra moves to Gangotri on Days 4 and 5, which is the revered origin of the Holy Ganga.
The highlight of the tour is the visit to Kedarnath from Days 6 to 8. This high-altitude home of Lord Shiva can be reached through a rewarding trek or a helicopter ride. The final Dham is Badrinath on Days 9 and 10, which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
The pilgrimage wraps up with a scenic descent back to Haridwar or Rishikesh on Day 11, followed by your return journey to Kolkata on Day 12. This package includes all necessary ground transportation and accommodation for a memorable holy circuit.

On Day 1, arrive in Delhi from Kolkata by flight or train. Meet our representative, who will help you before your journey to Haridwar. The drive from Delhi to Haridwar is about 220 km on well-connected highways and takes roughly 5–6 hours.
When you reach Haridwar, check in to your hotel and take some time to freshen up. In the evening, head to Har Ki Pauri on the banks of the Ganges River. There, you can witness the Ganga Aarti, a beautiful ritual of lamps, chants, and devotion held at sunset that attracts devotees from all over the country.
After a hearty breakfast in Haridwar, you’ll check out of your hotel and start your scenic journey to Barkot, the gateway to Yamunotri. The drive from Haridwar to Barkot is about 180-220 km through the foothills of the Himalayas. It usually takes around 7 to 8 hours by road, offering lovely views of the hills and valleys along the way.
On the way, you’ll stop at the charming hill station of Mussoorie. You can visit popular attractions like Kempty Falls, a beautiful waterfall set in the mountains, and Mussoorie Lake, famous for boating and its scenic surroundings.
After exploring these spots and enjoying the fresh mountain air, you’ll continue your drive to Barkot. When you arrive in Barkot, you’ll check in at your hotel, relax from the day’s travel, and enjoy a peaceful overnight stay as you gear up for the next day’s adventure.
On Day 3, you’ll enjoy a tasty breakfast at your hotel in Barkot before starting your drive to Phoolchatti or Jankichatti, the last points you can reach by car before heading to Yamunotri. From Jankichatti, you’ll begin the roughly 6 km trek through beautiful Himalayan scenery to the Yamunotri Temple, which honours Goddess Yamuna and sits high in the Garhwal Himalayas. This hike is moderately challenging and typically takes about 3 to 5 hours on foot. If you prefer not to walk the whole way, you can ride a pony, horse, or doli/palanquin.
Once you arrive at Yamunotri, you can take a sacred dip in the warm waters of Jamunabai Kund, the natural hot springs. After that, you can have the divine darshan of Yamunaji at the temple.
After your spiritual visit, you will trek back down to Jankichatti and drive back to Barkot. There, you’ll spend the night and rest comfortably after a rewarding day of pilgrimage.
On Day 4, you’ll start with a delicious breakfast at your hotel in Barkot. After that, you’ll check out and begin your drive to Uttarkashi. This scenic journey covers about 80-100 km and typically takes 3-4 hours by road through the beautiful mountain landscapes of Uttarakhand.
When you arrive in Uttarkashi, you’ll check in at your pre-booked hotel and freshen up. In the evening, you can visit some famous local attractions, especially the Shree Kashi Vishwanath Temple, a peaceful and cherished shrine in the Himalayan town, along with other spiritual and local sites.
After exploring and enjoying the spiritual atmosphere, have a tasty dinner. Then, return to your hotel to relax and unwind in your room for a comfortable overnight stay in Uttarkashi.
On Day 5, you will wake up early in Uttarkashi and enjoy a delicious breakfast. Then, you will set out for your sacred journey to Gangotri, one of the holiest Hindu pilgrimage sites in the Garhwal Himalayas. The road from Uttarkashi to Gangotri is about 100 km and takes 3 to 4 hours each way by car, with winding mountain roads.
On the way, you will stop at Gangnani, a calm place known for its Garam Kund hot springs. Here, you can take a refreshing dip and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Continuing through the beautiful Harsil Valley, celebrated for its lush landscapes and quiet beauty, you will arrive at Gangotri.
At Gangotri, you can take a holy dip in the River Ganges, also called the Bhagirathi, and then visit the Gangotri Temple to have the divine darshan of Goddess Gangotri. After soaking in the spiritual atmosphere and completing your visit, you will drive back to Uttarkashi, where you can relax during your overnight stay at the hotel before continuing your journey.
On Day 6, after a delicious breakfast at your hotel in Uttarkashi, you'll check out and start a scenic drive to Guptkashi. This journey covers about 220-240 km through beautiful Himalayan landscapes, passing through Moolgarh, Lambgaon, and Tilwara. It takes around 8 to 9 hours and provides stunning views of valleys and rivers, particularly the sacred Mandakini River along the route.
When you arrive in Guptkashi, a town cherished in Hindu tradition and an important stop on the way to Kedarnath, you'll check in at your reserved hotel and take some time to relax. In the evening, you'll head to the Ardhanarishwar Temple, an ancient shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva in his half-male, half-female form. This temple is one of the town's main spiritual sites. After the holy visit, return to your hotel for a restful overnight stay in Guptkashi.
Enjoy a delicious breakfast, then take a scenic drive to Gaurikund. This is the last motorable point before the Kedarnath Yatra begins. Here, your road trip ends, and the spiritual trek begins. From Gaurikund, you’ll trek about 16 km to Kedarnath Temple. This hike can take around 6 to 8 hours, depending on your speed and fitness. Alternatively, you can choose a doli (palanquin), pony, or helicopter for added comfort at an extra cost.
Once you arrive at Kedarnath, you’ll visit the sacred Kedarnath Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Experience the divine evening arti and soak in the peaceful spiritual atmosphere of this ancient Himalayan shrine. After the arti, you’ll head back to your hotel for a well-deserved rest and spend the night in this tranquil area.
On Day 8, you’ll wake up early and head to the Kedarnath Temple. You will participate in the morning rituals and have the blessed darshan of Lord Kedarnath. Immerse yourself in the divine atmosphere of this ancient Himalayan shrine. After the darshan and rituals, you’ll begin your descent back down to Gaurikund. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the mountains and valleys along the way.
From Gaurikund, you’ll meet your driver and start the drive back to Guptkashi. You’ll cover the road distance before reaching your pre-reserved hotel. Once there, you’ll check in, enjoy a delicious dinner, and then relax with a comfortable overnight stay. Take some time to reflect on the spiritual experiences from your Kedarnath visit.
Enjoy a tasty breakfast at your hotel in Guptkashi in the morning. Then, set off on a beautiful drive to Joshimath via Chopta. You will admire the stunning Himalayan views along the way. The distance from Guptkashi to Joshimath is about 150-160 km, and the trip usually takes 5-7 hours by road, depending on traffic and road conditions.
Once you arrive in Joshimath, you will check into your pre-booked hotel and take some time to relax. In the evening, visit the ancient Narsingh Temple, a sacred site dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his half-man, half-lion form. This temple is important for its religious significance and is one of the main temples in Joshimath.
After your visit, return to your hotel for a restful overnight stay. Enjoy the calm mountain atmosphere and get ready for the journey ahead.
After a hearty breakfast in Joshimath, you’ll set out for a short and scenic drive to Badrinath, which is about 44 to 46 km away. The drive takes roughly 1.5 to 2 hours along the winding mountain road that follows the Alaknanda River.
Upon arrival, start your sacred visit by taking a holy dip in the Tapt Kund, a natural hot spring believed to purify the body before darshan. Then head to the Badrinath Temple for divine darshan of Badrivishal (Lord Vishnu) and soak in the peaceful spiritual atmosphere of this ancient and revered shrine.
Be sure to attend the evening aarti, which enhances the temple's devotion and atmosphere. If time allows, you can explore nearby attractions such as Mana Village, the last Indian village before the Indo-Tibet border, Charanpaduka, the footprints believed to be of Lord Vishnu, Bhimkund, Vyas Gufa, the cave associated with sage Vyasa, Mata Murti Temple, and the source of the Saraswati River, all located close to Badrinath.
After completing your darshan and sightseeing, you’ll drive back to Joshimath for a relaxing overnight stay at your hotel, reflecting on the divine experiences of the day.
After a tasty breakfast at your hotel in Joshimath, you will check out and start your return trip to Haridwar. Enjoy the beautiful drive through the Himalayan foothills and valleys. The distance from Joshimath to Haridwar is about 275 to 280 kilometres, and the drive usually takes around 8 to 9 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.
On the way, you will pass through Rishikesh. You can take some time to explore its well-known spiritual and cultural sites, like Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula, the Beatles Ashram, and Triveni Ghat. Alternatively, you can enjoy a peaceful walk along the Ganges and through the lively local streets.
After your visit to Rishikesh, you will continue your journey to Haridwar. You will be dropped off at your hotel for a well-deserved overnight stay, wrapping up this memorable part of your pilgrimage adventure.
On Day 12, after breakfast and checking out from your hotel in Haridwar, start your drive to Delhi. The distance is about 220 to 236 km, and it usually takes 5 to 6 hours by car, depending on traffic and road conditions.
Once you arrive in Delhi, you will be taken to the airport or railway station for your return trip to Kolkata by flight or train. This concludes your spiritually rewarding Chardham Yatra, leaving you with treasured memories of the divine journey through the Himalayas.
